Action Against Poverty (AAP) CC

Part of this CCs purpose is “to raise the voice for tolerance and human respect, regardless of any religion, color, or creed” and “to motivate people to utilize their resources Time, Talent and Treasure (TTT) for peaceful coexistence.” This amazing organization is nine months old, and is working for economic and social justice with the Development and Disaster Management office of Punjab Province in Pakistan. Supporting the community through micro crediting, free legal aid, health training, and community development education, this CC is making a great difference in their local community. Women Inter-religious Dialogue and Ecumenism (WIDE) CC
Lahore, Pakistan
Over the past two years, this CC has brought together women in Pakistan for seminars, conferences, to educate at a grassroots level on “combating and eliminating religious intolerance and extremism in society.” In their purpose, they also stated that they strive “to ensure the community participation for positive and sustainable understanding on inter-religious matters, and to indulge in formation of children through mothers for acceptance and tolerance of religions and cultures in Pakistan.” This CC is doing great things to bring together women who can work to bridge religious divides in their communities. Youth Peace Revolution CC
Lahore, Pakistan
This CC’s states its purpose is “to promote peace through art.” Through festivals and events they strive to bring together participants to understand and respect each others traditions. On October 7th, 2007, they celebrated the importance of friendship and planned an event in which youngsters from different ethnic and religious backgrounds got together. On December 31st, 2007, they organized a trip to Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque to visit the cultural heritage of Pakistan, to learn and appreciate ancient art work.
