On 14th December Fr. James and Mr. Yuel Bhatti attended the Christmas ceremony at the Muslim League House-Lahore. The Ex-Chief minister Ch. Pervaiz Ellahi was the chief guest. It was a historic event. A Large gathering of Interfaith community, dignities and Principal officer of US consulate attended this event.

On 16th December 2008 the Regional Coordinator participated in interfaith Christmas celebration by the Federal Minister for Minorities and human rights. In this event Fr. James Channan was special guest while the Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani was the chief guest, the federal minister and provincial ministers, MPAs, diplomats and a number of community members were present. The Prime minister made announcements for minorities.

On 21st Devember, 2008 Fr. James Channan was invited to the Presidents House Islamabad by the Asif Ali Zardari President of Pakistan for “Christmas Dinner”. He had a good word with the president, MNAs, diplomat.

On 7th January 2009 Fr. James Channan OP along with Mr. Yuel Bhatti participated in Christmas and new year celebration at the Pearl Continental Hotel Lahore. The programe was organized by Molana Zubair Ahmad Zaheer, President of Al-Hadees Jamiat. While Mr. Brain D.Hunt, Principal officer consulate of USA, Rt. Rev.Dr.Alexendar John Malik Bishop of Lahore, Mr. Mathew D. Lowe, Political officer, consulate of USA and other interfaith religious leaders were present. In this event present situation of the country and world peace were discussed by the participant.

On 16th January 2009 Interfaith X-Mas and New Year get together was held at local hotel. It was organized by Fr. Francis Nadeem OFM, National Coordinator of  Channan OP URI regional coordinator for Pakistan were the guests of honor. The dignitaries, religious leaders, Mr. Yuel Bhatti and the executive board members of National Council for Interfaith were present. Fr. Nadeem Francis, Mr. Joseph Francis, Molana Abdul Khabeer Azad, Molana Zubair Ahmad Zaheer. Pir Shafait Rasool, Dr. Kanwal  Feroze, Fr. James Channan OP and Mr. Mathew D. Lowe expressed their views about Christmas and New Year  in the present situation of the Middle East. They Stressed that Interfaith dialogue for peace be encourage through religious and political leaders.
