Dear URI brothers and sisters,

The URI Pakistan region has organized a solidarity trip to Gojra - Pakistan to express our solidarity with the victims of religiously motivated violence against Christians. As you may recall 7 Christians were burnt alive, 50 got injured and 70 houses were completely destroyed in the Christian Colony, Gojra. In the mean time 2 more Christians have died from the same colony as a result of the terrible shock they received from the  mob attack on their homes.

The situation is still very tense all around the country. Christians are very frightened and under deep shock and disbelief that how such a terrible thing heppened  to us in. Protest rallies are going around the country. Counless Muslim organizations have condemned this attack and have expressed solidarity with Christians. Almost all tv channels and newspapers have carried special programs and talk shows  on this incident and have sought forgiveness from Christians.

The URI Pakistan is very much involved in bringing reconciliation, some comfort and relife to the victims of this tragic incident. We have planned a special solidarity trip to Chrisitan Colony in Gojra to offer some humanitarian aid to the 70 families. We are going to offer them food and some cash as well for their daily needs with the  limited resources  we have. This trip will be on 13th of August, next Thursday. URI members will reach Gojra from different cities. We are welcoming gifts and donations for this purpose. It is our gesture of solidarity  and concern for them. I also invite you to pray for us and  consider to give financial help to these helpless and poor people, if possible. Your prayers, moral support and any sort of financial will be received with thanks!

I also extend the  invitation to the Coordinators of all CCs in  Pakistan and Azad Kashmir to join us in Gojra on 13th of August. We will be there around 12.00 noon. We will  feed our brothers and sisters and also give them financial aid as well. You are welcome to bring your gifts in kind or cash for the victims in Gojra. Thank you very much!
